Christmas Eve Eve was spent with my in-laws
Christmas day with my family
I love cats … I just can’t eat a whole one.
My sis-in-law (the mom of my niece) customized this Christmas house for our other sis-in-law’s dance studio and dance wear store.
Dance studio sis-in-law (holding the drink) made this for our niece. It can fit in a doorway and it includes some hand puppets. Adorable!!!
Dancing with Grandma.
Chilling with my favorite 2-year-old. (Not sure why she’s using her doll’s pacifier.)
My dad roasted chestnuts (in the oven).
My cousin and I used to play with that dollhouse at our (late) grandparents’ house. Now my niece plays with it at her grandparents’ house.
Also, this brings an end to the many grab bags I participated in this season – white elephant exchange at work, Yankee swap with blogger friends, white elephant exchange with friends, Yankee swap with running club, a very complicated variation of a Yankee swap with my in-laws, white elephant exchange with my family. Six in one holiday season. I think that’s a new record for me. And almost every one had a different set of rules. (In case you care, I ended up with a book on kissing, a jar of cookie butter & happiness project journal, an iPod shuffle, a six pack of beer, a bottle of Tide & a kitties 2013 calendar, and a pair of roller blades.)
Have you ever roasted chestnuts? They were … not terrible, but not something we’ll ever make again.
How many grab bags/white elephants/Yankee swaps did you participate in this season? Is it just me, or are they becoming more popular? Did you get anything good from them? I ended up with some good stuff – the iPod, cookie butter & journal, beer, and that calendar is totally going in my office.

I participated in six white elephant gift exchanges this year- at our meet up, at work, with my swim club, with my family, with my high school friends and with our couple friends last night. I think this may mean we’re getting more popular! ;)
Your pictures are amazing – they look like holiday postcards! I participated in two gift exchanges this year – our blogger one, and one from work. I liked the one from the blogger party (the nail polish and chocolates) but I got a true white elephant gift from the work exchange (a plastic figurine that shoots styrofoam balls out of its mouth).
Aw, thanks! I’ve been enjoying my new camera, especially the “miniature effect” shooting mode – it blurs the edges.
